Intensive Care Units
Patients may be transferred directly to an Intensive Care Unit from an Emergency Department if required, or from a ward if they rapidly deteriorate; or immediately after surgery if the surgery is majorly invasive and the patient is at high risk of complications.
The ICU is a multidisciplinary facility with advanced cardiac and respiratory life support for critical medical, cardiac and surgical cases.
The ICU is equipped with the latest technology including:
- infusion and syringe pumps
- bedside monitors
- DC shock (defiblirators)
- portable X-ray machine
- mechanical ventilators
- a blood gas machine
- full electric ICU beds with air mattresses
